  Going To A Christening Next Week

  so my girlfriends, friend has invited me to her little boy's christening.

  6 months ago if you'd asked me this i'd have recoiled in horror.

  We went to visit our son in Europe and the old cathedrals there are amazing. We don't know 'old' here in the states. Though I will never belong to any religion, I do find Catholic ritual comforting in a way. The choirs are wonderful as well.

  Campaign to invite people to meetings

  just found out last night that our congo is starting a campaign to invite interested people to meetings.

  the instructions for the campaign clear out that "interested" people are not just those whom we visit often or have bible studies with.

  it includes and random stranger we may talk to and who may show a hint of interest on the religion.

  i find it hard to believe that the flamboyant grooming, earrings and heels would grant him positive status in the congregation.

  it definitely wouldn't fly in my old cong in arizona.

  he would been pulled in the b room rather fast.

  well, i messaged someone on e-harmony and she messaged me back.

  i did like her at first and she likes me too.

  we exchanged more than 10 messages till i find out yesterday that her best friend is a tarot card reader.

  now i know i am getting older or of the older generation.

  i have had a very strange day with a lot of strange dealings with people with strange behavior today but this one incident was just over the top.

  so i came out of a store in a busy shopping center.

  "You Can Do Just Enough Ministry To Dislike It"

  when you were "in" did you ever actually enjoy the ministry?

  and i made no secret about it.

  instead i would joke about me feather knocking, and made sure i had my bible in hand so as they come to the door they know what im about so they can shut me down before i even start.. i always wondered how or why there were people who enjoyed it.

  Question about an elder and if I am crazy

  ok so i have a question.

  i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.

  so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

  I want you to remember that the only behavior we can control is our own. This drama will continue as long as you participate. If you disengage from these people and they continue to harass you, take out a restraining order. I do not think you're crazy, but I do think you have crazy all around you. Please continue to see your therapist; this does sound PTS related. You should stop attending meetings and plan your exit carefully. You have more power than you realize.
